Lance’s Story

Being unique goes a long way!

Before I begin, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Lance Soriaga and I am the Restaurant Manager at Firehouse Subs – Seasons.

Way back when I was little, I only dreamed of becoming a priest, then became very intrigued and interested in becoming a public servant (firefighter/policing).

When I turned 15, I applied for a summer job with the City of Winnipeg. Around this time, I believed the fast-food industry was never my top choice. While in high school during Covid, I could not stay home and do school all day, so I looked for a job. In February 2020, I started working as a produce clerk. That same year, I began working as a popular Food Services company, all while doing school and still working during each summer.

For post-secondary, I went to RRC Polytech to study Business Administration with a Human Resources major, which I graduated from in 2023.

Being a part of JFG/Firehouse Subs was unplanned, but hey, some things are meant to be!

It all began with, you guessed it, social media.

I was scrolling through Instagram when I saw a post about Firehouse opening at the Outlet Mall. This is when I suggested to two brothers of mine to apply, as I had been working full time and was in college.

However, here I am two suggestions later and started as a Team Member back when the store opened in December 2023, and have proudly made my way up to being a Restaurant Manager in just a few months. Without great advice and support from those around me at Firehouse, I would never see myself in the position I am now, and that is only one of the reasons why I love working here.

I also admire the Firehouse Public Safety Foundation; it is this that keeps me appreciative of working here!

My future goal for now, is to help grow this brand and grow it to be the best Firehouse in Canada!

Go Jets Go!
